Market Harborough Town Hall
A Stylish and Intimate Wedding at Market Harborough Town Hall: A Celebration of Love Between Dan + Archie
In the heart of England, nestled within the picturesque Leicestershire countryside, lies Market Harborough — a charming town known for its blend of history, character, and contemporary flair. It was here that Dan + Archie began their love story years ago, and decided that this was the perfect setting for their legal ceremony, in an intimate celebration of love, elegance, and individuality.
Archie and Dan chose to have their legal ceremony without any fuss, and had a small number of guests which were just their closest family members. Allowing the focus of the day to shift entirely to what matters: the love between the two of them. This is why I love smaller town hall weddings so much as this allows the day to be entirely centered around you as a couple and the people who matter most in your lives.
With a smaller guest list, you can personalise the ceremony in ways that feel most authentic to you. Choosing a meaningful place that has special significance for you as a couple. The setting can be simpler, yet more beautiful, because it’s not about impressing anyone—it's about creating a moment that reflects your love, values, and vision for the future.
I was with Dan and Archie for just a couple of hours on this day, which was the perfect amount of time to capture the two of them together, their ceremony and photos with their loved ones. (Learn more about my bespoke packages for intimate weddings here). I arrived with the grooms about 45 minutes before their ceremony, both looked gorgeous in their smart but casual suits in beige and cream which complimented each other so well, adorned with matching Adidas spezial trainers.
We headed to the local florist, where they each chose a single rose to be worn as their buttonholes. We then took the time to have a little walk around the streets of Market Harborough talking about their love story and reminiscing about how they met, laughing and taking photos of the two of them together. Taking their portraits before the ceremony was a great way for the two grooms to relax with one another, getting rid of any of their nerves that they had before they walked down the aisle, and also meant that after the ceremony, they could fully enjoy the company of their guests.
By having an intimate ceremony with only family there, is a wonderful opportunity to honour the relationships that have helped shape you as a person. It was short and sweet ceremony, which began by Archie being walked down the aisle by his Nan, and Dan by both of his parents. After being cheered back down the aisle we headed outside, where a few friends were waiting to throw confetti at the newlyweds. This is where we took group photos of all of the family, before heading to the pub for a few drinks.
An intimate family meal was then held at the Rocksalt, where the couple cut their wedding cake, marking the beginning of the next chapter in their lives. Being invited to capture such personal and intimate wedding day is such an honour!
